Mission Statement, Purpose and Goals
Mission Statement: The Friends of the Five Cities Fire
Authority act as advocates to enhance community fire safety and emergency
procedures; that better serve the citizens of Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach and
Oceano. The Friends will assist policy
that improve public safety of these communities, will conduct/promote
fundraising activities that meet public safety goals of the Five Cities Fire
Authority including, but not limited to, updating of equipment, training of
firefighters and improving fire stations.
Purpose: The purpose of the Friends of the Five Cities
Fire Authority is to maintain a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
governed/administrated by a board of directors who follow defined by-laws in
its advocacy for and funding of the fire authority emergency services delivery
needs. This community group will
advocate for identified needs, set goals, raise funds, administer funds, and
disperse funds to meet specific unfunded needs of the Five Cities Fire Authority.
Goals:
1. Raise funds to establish and maintain and endowment used
to:
a. Enhance fire
services through grant acquisitions.
b. Increase
emergency services levels for the communities it serves.
c. Focus public
attention on fire safety education and disaster preparedness.
2. With majority board support, take action in support of
our Mission Statement, Purpose, and Goals.
3. Raise funds to be used in support of specific fire
authority unfunded needs for equipment, apparatus, facilities, training and
other operational needs.
